Because we are positioned for rapid growth, we are currently seeking another valuable team member for the position of Digital Print Press Operator. The roles and responsibilities of the Digital Print Press Operator position include operating laser, inkjet, xerographic, and LED printers. The Digital Print Press Operator will maintain primary responsibility for reviewing job instructions, preparing files for print production, monitoring and managing the print queue, and printing job files. He/She will also be responsible for ensuring consistent quality and the correct output of both printed images and text. In addition, the responsibilities of this position include keeping updated daily print production job logs and maintaining daily journals of delivered orders. The Digital Print Press Operator must maintain and update the inventory supply list (paper, ink, tabs, coils, etc.) and alert the Purchasing Manager about any buying requirements for specific jobs or when inventory levels run low. Knowledge of the standard setups, adjustments, and operating features of equipment is necessary, aligned with individual job requirements and the day-to-day maintenance of printers.
Attention to detail is a requirement for this position! Also, time management skills and the ability to prioritize are “musts,” as many projects may be scheduled simultaneously and be in the production stage at the same time.
If a problem arises during the production process, the Digital Print Press Operator must be able to halt production, identify the problem, troubleshoot and repair or reset equipment as needed, and continue the project to meet delivery deadlines.
REQUIREMENTS
- Prepress/Printing experience: 7+ years
- English communication skills: Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Detail-focused
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Authorization to work legally in the United States
- Valid US driver’s license (preferably NJ or NYC)
QUALIFICATIONS
- General knowledge of designing, printing, and print production
- In-depth experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
- Ability to:
- Troubleshoot projects as needed, before printing.
- Effectively use software solutions related to pre-press technology for digital reproduction
- Plan, prioritize, and organize client projects on the production line
- Accurately discern colors
- Have an eye for detail
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Have excellent time management skills
- Enjoy working in a face-paced team environment.
